Massage therapy training at City Pointe Beauty Academy includes Massage Theory and Practice, Anatomy and Physiology, Business and Professional Practice, and Ancillary Therapies. This program is focused on the study of the body and how to enhance its physical well-being through hands-on treatment. Massage is the manipulation of superficial and deeper layers of muscle and connective tissue using various techniques to enhance function, aid in the healing process, decrease muscle reflex activity and promote relaxation. The school currently offers a 600-hour training program in Massage Therapy that meets Missouri state standards and takes at least six months to complete, depending on overall attendance. The primary goal of this program is for the graduate to become a knowledgeable and professional massage therapist with the background and skills to pass the state board exam (MBLEx).
